Someone is always watching

I spent this past weekend building a wall and bunk beds for our youngest son, Reid.  As I was working, I noticed a shadow following me around.  Reid had donned his tool belt, picked up one of my spare pencils, and stuck it behind his ear; He looked just like me.

It was a sobering reminder of how much my actions impact those around me.  Whether you're three or forty, we tend to follow actions more than words.

The same goes for our communities.  We can talk about our values and our mission all day long, but if our actions paint a different picture, that is what our teams will see as acceptable behavior.

When is the last time you threw on a hair net and spent 20 minutes working the dish machine?  Served lunch in one of your dining rooms?  Picked up that piece of paper on the ground?  Remember- our actions speak volumes and someone is always watching.
