This month, we asked Telstra employees to ‘Let. It. Go’ as part of National Recycling Week. The initiative encouraged our people to responsibly recycle end-of-life technology and electronic devices (e-waste). More than 200 commercial office floors participated nationwide. Not only did we keep over 12 tonnes of technology out of landfill, we also supported the community. One of Telstra’s e-waste recycling partners, PGM Refiners, provides employment opportunities to disadvantaged job seekers, including those who have experienced long-term unemployment.

Accelerating change for women

Telstra CEO David Thodey is taking a leadership role in advancing women in business. David has been a member of the Male Champions of Change, a group of 21 leaders from across business and government, since its establishment in 2010. Alternative energy for our exchanges

As part of our quest for alternative energy solutions, we’ve been testing fuel cells at mobile base stations and exchange sites around Australia. We've found that they show great promise as back-up power supply, because they are small, reliable, last longer than batteries and produce less noise and environmental impacts. Telstra legal team supports Indigenous artists

Through our legal pro bono program, Telstra lawyer Alicia Moody recently provided a week of skilled volunteering, visiting remote communities in Western Australia with the Arts Law Centre to draft wills for 30 Indigenous artists.
