As the new director of parent engagement, I am eager to interact with you in the year ahead! As parents, you play an integral role in supporitng EMU's mission to prepare your children to serve and lead in a global context.

This ParentLink is one way we keep in touch with parents over the academic year. The EMU Parents Facebook page is another; join it if you haven't already! Please also take a moment to visit our parent website for more information and be sure to check out the full schedule of events.

First Year Orientation: August 29-30

Check-in begins at Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. on the second floor of the University Commons. Please make this your first stop of the day. A special orientation session for parents will begin at 2:30 p.m. Check out the "Orientation schedule at a glance" for further information and be sure to download the Guidebook!

For Returning Students

EMU’s residence halls will be open for returning students at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 30.

There will be contact information and further instruction in each residence hall lounge if you arrive after 5 p.m.

Undergraduate Students work with Global Peacebuilders

This summer, four EMU undergraduate students worked with EMU’s Summer Peacebuilding Institute, spending six weeks acting as hosts and ambassadors for approximately 145 international visitors.
