Wine of the Weekend

Mirabeau ‘X’ Coteaux-d’Aix-en-Provence Rosé 2021

We’re going to let you in on a little Thanksgiving secret – pairing wine with turkey is actually pretty easy. Finding a wine that matches all the side dishes that come with the turkey is the challenge. You may already know the wine that can tackle this challenge and may have been drinking it all summer. Rosé is the secret: its versatility is perfect for the Thanksgiving table and Mirabeau X Rosé is the one we’ll be pouring all weekend long. It pairs just as well with leftovers!

Tasting Notes: A classic blend of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault, Mirabeau X Rosé delivers delicious flavours of raspberry, tart cherry, pomegranate and berry/citrus sorbet. The zesty acidity and elegant fruit flavours make it an amazing food-wine.

Enjoy With: Thanksgiving appetizers to your last bite of turkey. It’s perfect for canapés, veggies and seafood appetizers like shrimp or smoked salmon. On the dinner table, it pairs just as well with turkey and cranberry sauce as it does with cheesy scalloped potatoes, oven roasted veggies and squash.

Style: An extra-dry, medium-bodied rosé wine.

Terroir/Region: Coteaux-d’Aix-en-Provence is the westernmost area of the famed rosé region of Provence, France. It is bordered by the Durance River to the north, the sea to the south, the Rhone valley to the west, and Saint-Victoire mountain to the east. While wineries like Mirabeau capture the flavours of the region, artists like Cézanne captured its beauty. Now that’s a good pairing!

Producer: Stephen and Jeany Cronk had a serious passion for rosé, so much so that they packed up their family, left London (UK), and headed to Provence to start making it. Their mission was to make world-class rosé, and since their founding in 2010, they have garnered some of the highest awards in wine, held leadership roles in the region’s industry, and opened Domaine Mirabeau, their estate winery.
