Domestic Violence against Ethnic Women: Literature Review Shakti in several South Asian languages means “strength” and “power” and is a particularly feminine energy and symbol. Shakti Community Council was established to combat the problem of domestic violence against ethnic women in Aotearoa, particularly Asian, Middle Eastern and African women by providing culturally appropriate services. This literature review investigates violence against ethnic women especially in NZ and explores the possible responses to such violence. |
