About This Poem

 

“The Evening Star” was published in Longfellow’s book The Belfry of Bruges and Other Poems (J. Owen, 1846).

 

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was born in Maine on February 27, 1807. He published over a dozen collections of poetry, including Voices of the Night (1839) and The Song of Hiawatha (1855). Longfellow died on March 24, 1882.
