Dear friends,

Welcome to the 26th issue of our newsletter and the last one before the autumn. This issue brings you updates on the IPID network, partner universities and the Junior ICT Expert program as well as reports from recent conferences. We also have an introduction of our newest staff member Magnus Lundsten.

Before we enter the traditional summer vacation, SPIDER would like to thank you for your contributions to the newsletters. We wish all our readers a wonderful summer and we look forward to resuming our activities and start new initiatives in the autumn.

ICT4MPOWER and SPIDER at IST Africa, May 6-8th

The SPIDER supported project ICT4MPOWER was presented at the IST AFrica conference in Kampala, Uganda during May 6-8th. Karoline Beronius from SPIDER also presented the Swedish experience on ICT4D cooperation in Africa.

IPID research workshop and course series

The International Post Graduate Student Network (IPID), which is supported by SPIDER, arranged a serie of seminars on the topic "Blended technologies for development" this spring in order to introduce students to a variety of different technologies. Each of the three seminars, held at Ericsson and KTH, were attended by around 30 students from various Swedish universities.

A reasearch workshop was also recently held at Örebro University, organized by the PhD. students and IPID coordinators Annika Andersson and Mathias Hatakka.
