UK e-Health Week is hosted by HIMSS, a global, not-for-profit organisation working in e-health for more than 50 years. We are busy working with our partners and supporters, including BCS - the Chartered Institute for IT, and NHS England and NHS Digital, to develop a packed agenda of high profile speakers and interactive sessions. Join more than 3,000 delegates to learn new skills, share ideas and bring your plans to life. It’s time to use the power of IT to transform patient care. New speakers confirmed
We are adding speakers to our programme daily so keep an eye on our website for updates. Global Digital Exemplars feature zone UK e-Health Week 2017 will see a new zone dedicated to the Global Digital Exemplars, showcasing progress made by the 12 NHS trusts recently announced by the Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt that will pioneer and help diffuse cutting health IT. The 12 NHS organisations are to receive up to £10 million to deliver innovative approaches to digital services and help others in the NHS to learn from their experience. These trusts will partner with an international organisation to take full advantage of their expertise. The feature zone will operate as a ‘conference within the conference’, providing deep focus on the early work, plans and ambitions of the exemplars, as well as updates from national leaders on the wider digital health agenda. More information about the Global Digital Exemplars zone will be added to our website shortly. BCS programme at UK e-Health Week 2017 As the chartered institute for IT and a partner of UK e-Health Week 2017, BCS will lead sessions on the biggest issues facing health IT at next year’s event. Patient safety is at the heart the BCS programme and internationally-renowned speakers will explore electronic prescribing safety, implementation science, learning health systems, clinical leadership, citizen empowerment and more. Launch of Kate Granger Awards 2017 at UK e-Health Week Next year’s UK e-Health Week will see the launch of the Kate Granger Compassionate Care Awards – named after Dr Kate Granger who worked tirelessly to raise awareness around compassion in healthcare while undergoing treatment for cancer. Kate, who sadly passed away in July, launched the awards in 2014 to recognise people and organisations that have delivered care with compassion at its heart. Now, with the backing of HIMSS and the support of Kate’s widower Chris Pointon, the awards will continue, with nominations kicking off at UK e-Health Week 2017 and awards ceremony taking place at Health and Care Innovation Expo 2017 in September. More information will be on our website shortly.
