Click here Welcome to our monthly digital newsletter with events and holy happenings from around the Diocese of Peterborough.If you have stories to be included in future editions email: communications@peterborough-diocese.org.uk As part of our Diocesan Year of Prayer and the Thy Kingdom Come initiative, there will be an interactive prayer trail based on The Lord's Prayer at Peterborough Cathedral on Saturday 7 June, 10am - 3.30pm. Prayer stations will be available all day throughout the cathedral, with short acts of worship focusing on phrases from The Lord's Prayer. All are welcome. Meet our ordinands and deacons from across the Diocese who will be ordained in July. We pray for them as they take their oaths and begin their next step on their journey of service. On Friday 9 May Bishop Debbie gave her maiden speech in the House of Lords in a debate focusing on the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe and Victory over Japan. The Revd Michael Moore from St Mary’s Church in Peterborough has seen his congregation more than double over the time he has been in post with 31% under 20, including 15% under the age of 10. But Michael says it’s not about doing anything special, ‘its all bog standard Church of England stuff’ he says. Our Diocesan Ministry Experience Scheme (MES) Interns recently spent three days on retreat in Buckden Towers (Cambridgeshire). As well as an opportunity to reflect on how God is shaping their ministry and calling, there were plenty of opportunities to rest, walk and cook together. A new lighting system installed recently at All Saints, Oakham has much improved the lighting levels for the congregation but has also led to significant savings in energy usage. Brixworth Deanery Synod met on 7 May to recognise and celebrate the work of lay volunteers in deanery churches. They were delighted to welcome almost 100 lay volunteers and provided a light buffet to enable people to socialise and network.
