TRNZ welcomes Ross Grundy No Images? Click here Kia Ora all! June, July and August are typically New Zealand's coldest months and we have started to see some pretty cool temperatures around the country. That doesn't seem to be bothering too many people though and truth be told the whole country has been far too involved in following the Lions Rugby Tour and celebrating New Zealand's win at the Americas Cup to worry about the mercury dropping. The interest in New Zealand however is still running red hot! While we enter into the typically slower travel period, operators are taking the opportunity to fine tune tours, activities and ensure maintenance is all complete before the busy season. We have updates on what's been going on with our TRNZ accommodation and activities, as well as some exciting news ourselves. Read on for more. * NZ Tourism stalwart, Ross Grundy joins the TRNZ team. * TRNZ introduces Sheepworld. * Welcome to Orbserver, a new activity for Rotorua. * 'The Heads' high-end accommodation in Hokianga work commences. * Jucy Cruise - Gem of the Sound food. * Bella Vista Motel Whangarei introduce the first electric vehicle charging station in a Whangarei accommodation option. * Waikato River Explorer scheduled boat maintenance and updates. Sheepworld has joined the TRNZ family Sheepworld is New Zealand’s premier showcase for sheep and wool production, just 45 minutes north of the Auckland CBD. Visitors can enjoy a step by step insight into how in New Zealand we farm our sheep, then harvest and use wool. In the twice-daily live shows the dogs skillfully round up and bring in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. The presenters show how the dogs are trained, then explain how and why sheep are farmed at Sheepworld. The multimedia exhibition Wonderful Wool explains the unique qualities of wool and demonstrates how the wool fleece is put to an amazing variety of uses. Sheepworld is set in over 30 acres of beautiful New Zealand countryside. The complex also features a wide variety of friendly farmyard animals to meet, an informative eco-trail through stunning native bush, and a highly regarded café. Sheepworld is educational and entertaining for visitors of all ages. With the main features located indoors or undercover, it is an all-weather attraction.
