The European lighthouse cities Vienna, Munich and Lyon as well as the follower cities Santiago de Compostela, Sofia and Venice come together in order to improve the quality of life of their citizens. Below you will find updates on the development of co-created and replicable Smart City solutions in 5 concrete areas– citizen engagement, district heating & renewable energy, holistic refurbishment, smart data and e-mobility. Smarter Together Featured in "b.inspired" MagazineSmarter Together has been featured in the October edition of Brussels airlines' "b.inspired" magazine, under the umbrella of best innovators of 2018. From Smarter Together Munich Smarter Together and the #munich4Europe CampaignEurope and Munich are a good fit, and the #munich4Europe campaign is one expression of Munich's commitment to Europe. Between now and the next European elections in May 2019, the Bavarian capital plans to make the European idea even more tangible. From Smarter Together Lyon Eco-refurbishment Progress in Lyon ConfluenceIn Lyon Confluence, two additional eco-refurbishment projects led by private groups of owners have started refurbishment work during the summer, with their connection to the district heating system having finished in September. From Smarter Together Vienna Vienna's First Mobility Station OpensOn 21 September 2018, the Vienna Lines (Wiener Linien) opened the Vienna Mobile Station to the public, the first of its kind in the city. Smarter Together was heavily involved in the co-creation process during the project period, providing international expertise and best practice exchanges, as well as H2020 funding. Upcoming Events European Week of Regions and Cities 8-11 October - Brussels, Belgium The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance. 18 October - Amsterdam, Netherlands The Smart City Experience will offer the the unique opportunity to experience the latest, cutting-edge innovations within the Smart City arena and connect with others working in Smart City sectors. Smart City Expo World Congress 13-15 November - Barcelona, Spain This year's Smart City Expo World Congress will concentrate on five main topics responding to the key issues facing cities: Digital Transformation, Urban Environment, Mobility, Governance & Finance, and Inclusive & Sharing Cities.
