DIY Natural Bug Repellent
If you’re planning to spend some time relaxing outdoors this holiday, be bug free naturally with this simple, all-natural bug repellent recipe.
- 4 oz. distilled or boiled water (room temperature)
- 3.75 oz. Humphrey’s Natural Witch Hazel
- 25-50 drops of Aura Cacia essential oils (choose from eucalyptus, rosemary, clove bud, lavender, and
cinnamon leaf)
Fill spray bottle (8 oz.) halfway with water and add witch hazel near the top of the bottle (leave room for your oils); top off with 25-50 drops of Aura Cacia essential oils to desired scent. The amount of essential oils is based on your preference, but remember that the more oils you use, the stronger the spray will be. Try our favorite combination — ”Bug Off Blend”: eucalyptus, clove bud, lavender, cinnamon leaf and rosemary.

Best of the Barrel Event Celebrates Great Food and Wine!
Nugget Markets’ Best of the Barrel wine, beer, and food celebration is back and better than ever! From 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, September 28th at RMI’s Good Life Garden in Davis, we’re partnering with UCD’s Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science for this wine and food fundraiser, benefiting the Institute’s graduate program and educational outreach efforts and events.
Attendees will enjoy a dazzling selection of delicious foods, wine, and beers, including Nugget Markets deli items, a variety top-notch meats, Nugget Market sausages, quality seafood, and farm-fresh vegetables grilled on-site, amazing cheese and beer pairings, luscious bakery desserts, and a huge selection of local, organic, and imported wines, many of which are from UCD
alumni winemakers.
Tickets are on sale now at all Nugget Markets locations and online for $60 each through September 21. Ticket prices increase to $75 each starting September 22 and will only be available at all Nugget Markets locations. Must be at lease 21 years of age to purchase tickets and attend Best of the

Peaches
This week, deliciously sweet peaches are on sale! If you haven’t tried grilling peaches yet this season, it’s time to spark up the grill! Start with peaches that are slightly firm, cut them in half and remove the pit, brush the peaches with grapeseed or canola oil, cook them over a medium fire (cut side down) until grill marks show and the peaches are tender, and enjoy!
