Calolea Olive Oil

Calolea Calolea Olive Oil

LocalMichael and Monica Keller have been producing high-quality olive oils in Bangor and Loma Rica since 1999. Calolea has been certified “extra virgin” by the California Olive Oil Council since 2000. The olives on the Keller’s 100-year-old Mission and Manzanillo trees are hand picked, stone crushed and cold pressed within 24 hours to create the finest oil possible. Calolea is known for their early harvest extra virgin style, which is a very pronounced, robust profile; crushing from a mix of greener olives results in less oil but more flavor!

Durst Organic Growers

Durts Farms

LocalSince the early 1980s, Jim and Deborah Durst have been growing and distributing organic produce. Well known for their exceptional cherry tomatoes and watermelon, their farm practices are based on the maxim "Feed the soil and the soil will feed the plants." This fourth generation farm is located in "Hungry Hollow" at the mouth of the Capay Valley. Durst Grape Cherry Tomatoes are on sale this week at 2/$4! (pint size)

Copper Hill

Copper Hill

LocalCopper Hill olives are grown on a small family farm in Yolo County, California, by the father-and-son team of Joe and Ken Muller. Copper Hill gets its name because the trees are grown on the south-facing slope of a rocky hillside, where the soil is a coppery color. In addition to the olive trees, Copper Hill also grows pomegranates and figs, which contribute to their flavored balsamic vinegar line including strawberry, fig, black currant, and pomegranate flavors. At Copper Hill, a 17-Kilowatt solar-energy system produces enough power to supply all the needs of the farm.

479 Popcorn

479 Popcorn

479Local Jean Arnold began 479 Popcorn with a fond childhood memory of cozy evenings spent playing cards and devouring fresh popcorn with her family. Her mother only served organic popcorn made in a stovetop popper that she’d hand crank. While studying at Le Cordon Bleu in London, Jean came upon the discovery that 479 degrees Fahrenheit is the optimal temperature for popping corn, hence the name of her artisan product. Today, Jean makes popcorn by hand in the San Francisco kitchen she started with her husband. This artisan popcorn is made in small batches with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Organic heirloom corn and organic agave syrup are used instead of high-fructose corn syrup in the caramel recipe.

Bullfrog Farms

Bullfrog

Bullfrog HoneyLocalWinters, CA The Harlan family has been farming in Northern California for five generations. They have bees located throughout Yolo, Sacramento, Solano and Colusa counties, not only on their land, but also that of other farmers and ranchers to help pollinate crops. When it is time to extract honey from the comb, Bullfrog Bees does so without heat – preserving all the beneficial enzymes. It is then sieved through stainless steel strainers, which preserves trace pollen grains and other beneficial nutrients. Then the Harlan’s hand bottle each individual jar and apply the decorative label, adding a touch of color to nature’s golden bounty: The world’s first and finest sweetener.

We love to support our neighbors and we're proud to have the Harlans produce our Fresh to Market honey.
