The team here at Hurstwood have had an incredibly busy start to 2012, completing more new lettings in opening months than in the same period for the last four years.
Despite continued economic doom and gloom in the local and national press, a surprising number of new start-up businesses are looking for commercial premises, with well-established companies also looking for additional space. We believe that entrepreneurs have put off starting up new companies and established businesses have put off expansion plans for as long as they can, and 2012 has seen a new optimism and enthusiasm that was certainly not present in 2011.
In the first 3 months of 2012 Hurstwood completed over 40 new lettings - since the start of the recession our industrial properties have vastly outperformed our offices in terms of new lettings, however, 2012 has seen enquiries for office premises significantly increasing with deals now starting to fall into place. Notably, recent negotiations at Leigh Business Park should see the two office buildings 100% full before the summer. Two deals have also left our property at Rotherham fully occupied and our business centre scheme in Sandbach is seeing higher enquiry levels than ever before.
Our business is about occupiers, our clients, and our flexible and pro-active approach continues to provide a formula that can help all businesses find the best working environment to enable their business to flourish.

Concept Legal Expenses first tenants at refurbished building
The first tenants have signed up at Crystal’s refurbished Manchester city centre office development at 61 Mosley Street.
Suite 6, located on the building’s first floor business centre, has been taken by Concept Legal Expenses Limited who have relocated from their current location near the Arndale Centre.
Refurbishment work on the building is now almost complete with suites available between 170 and 2,500 sq ft.
Hurstwood Sales Director Mark Carling said: "We are really pleased with the finished product which far exceeds our original aspirations. The property is truly unique offering roof terraces on 3 floors, including the top (6th) floor which also offers rooftop views over the main commercial district. We are not aware of any other office building in the city centre that has office suites under 2,500 sq ft that comes with this facility."

Hurstwood Brings Vogue to the Valley
23-27 Bacup Road, Rawtenstall, Rossendale

New bar for Rawtentall town centre
January saw Vogue Bars agreeing a deal with Hurstwood to let a retail unit at 23-27 Bacup Road.
The 6,000 sqft former furniture shop is set to become a new late night venue for the town, primarily open Friday and Saturday nights from 7pm to 4am, with live music, bands and a DJ.

Four new lettings in 2012
After completing four deals in the early part of 2012, Hurstwood are now fully let at Portside Industrial Estate in Ellesmere Port. More than 18,000 sqft of industrial space has been let as units 1-4 have been taken at the site.
The new tenants in unit 1 and 2 are Proweld Engineering Solutions and their sister company QA NDE Ltd.
The new tenant in the 3,000 sqft unit 3 is SW Performance Limited while the other new letting saw LTG (Cheshire) expand at the site, taking the 6,222 sqft unit 4 in addition to unit 6 which they let in November.

Sevacare and TLC Homecare Move In
After securing two new lettings in the early part of 2012, Hurstwood are now fully let at their offices at Taylors Court in Rotherham. Over 5,000 sqft of office space was let as deals were completed on suites A3 and A4.
The new tenant in suite A3 is TLC Homecare whilst Sevacare (UK) has moved into suite A4.

Emerald House Fully Let After Omnica Deal

Hurstwood welcome Omnica
Emerald House, one of Hurstwood’s landmark office buildings at Leigh Business Park, is now fully let after a deal was struck in March 2012 with Omnica Limited to rent the remaining space in the building.
The company moved into a 2,000 sqft suite on the ground floor at the beginning of May.
