This coming February the William Jessup Alumni Association we will be honoring three outstanding alumni for their accomplishments in ministry and the marketplace during Homecoming and Family Weekend - Friday, February 10th to Saturday, February 11th 2017. 

Award categories include:

Lifetime Achievement Award
Young Alum Achievement Award
Global Impact Award

The Jessup Gala will recognize alumna Phyllis Lanyon ('01); executive director of Open Door Libraries in San Jose, Calif. Lanyon’s organization operates three thriving Christian libraries located in Berlin, Prague and Budapest in regions that do not have access to the gospel message. The libraries are filled with Christian books, media and other resources for adults and children.

Jessup will also honor alumni Joe ('11) and Sami (Keen, '06,'11) Kaufman who are currently teaching abroad in Saudi Arabia at Saudi Aramco Expatriate School, one of the best schools in the Middle East. Joe is teaching mathematics and science while Sami is teaching kindergarten. The couple formerly taught in Alexandria, Egypt during tumultuous times, “Living in Egypt in the midst of a revolution broke us of fear, doubt and short-sighted living,” Sami Kaufman said.

The festivities also include a tribute to alums currently teaching in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter and Yuba Counties. Dean of Jessup’s School of Education, Tim Gillespie will recognize these alum for their teaching contributions to the region.

William Jessup University is proud to present the second annual Veterans Honor Run, a 5K walk/run that benefits Jessup Veteran students and Gold Star Family members by offering scholarships and alleviating graduate debt. This event will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at William Jessup University’s campus, and we would be thrilled if you joined us to partner in this great cause.

In January of 2016 over 150 participants gathered to support the Victor Dew Veterans Endowment Fund to support Jessup veterans and Gold Star Family students in graduating debt free. On Saturday, November 12th, we will be running again to officially endow the scholarship which will begin producing scholarships for our veterans with financial need. Your partnership through sponsorship or personal registration will help Jessup alleviate the cost of education for our veteran and Gold Star Family students.
