The 4th MIN-GUIDE Policy Laboratory Workshop, entitled “Innovations and Supporting Policies for Waste Management and Mine Closure”, aims to provide an overview of, and reflect upon, innovation examples in Waste Management and Mine Closure, including tailings management, waste water management and how they are linked to policy in the EU Member States.

The Policy Laboratory format, designed by the MIN-GUIDE partners, engages participants from policy, industry, Geological Surveys, and research in an intensive and interactive exchange, which allows the participants to learn, hands-on, from good practice cases, to explore transferability in different contexts, and to reflect upon future policy needs.

Finally, the outcome of the 4th Policy Laboratory will contribute to the further development of the Online Minerals Policy Guide.

Major Project Milestone achieved – Launch of Version 3.0 of the MIN-GUIDE Minerals Policy Guide!
We are happy to announce that the new version of the MIN-GUIDE website is now live, complete with new design, new features and new content. The MIN-GUIDE website makes it easy for the user to find information, such as mineral policies, country profiles and national focal points. Through an interactive map available on the home page, the user can access most of the content of the website. In addition, industry innovation cases include information about transferability, links to policies and impact on the mining value chain. All the information is presented in a coherent and intuitive layout. Last, but not least, 9 good practices on policy governance are now available. They are divided into three categories (strategic policy framework, stakeholder involvement and permitting procedures) and they cover 8 EU countries.
