I am very pleased to announce that the short film ‘To The Grave’ in which I play the central role of Claire, has won BEST FOREIGN PICTURE at Velvet Rope Film Festival and was nominated for BEST NARRATIVE SHORT FILM at Long Beach Indie International Film Festival. I had a chat with the lovely John Gilmore on BBC Radio Lancashire, discussing both the film and the festival circuit. I then dashed over to Manchester City Centre to speak at the TiE Pioneering Women event. What an inspiring group of businesswomen! Very honoured to be invited. Lascivious GraceDelighted to be joining the cast of “Lascivious Grace” a short film written and directed by Nadia Cavelle, produced by Melissa Johnson-Peters and casting by Jeremy Zimmerman. Principal photography to start in January 2017.
Spotlight Alice De Sousa - ProducerAlice de Sousa is a multi-award winning producer, writer for screen and theatre, and an internationally acclaimed stage actress. She is Managing Director of Iris Productions UK Ltd., the British representative of The Iris Group www.theirisgroup.eu and CEO of Galleon Films Ltd. For Galleon Films Ltd. she is producing a unique slate of feature films all directed by world class directors. These include A War of their Own directed by Bille August, Berlin I Love You (a collective of 10 A-list directors and 20 A-list actors); and The Angel Makers (aka The Poisoners) directed by Jon Amiel. These films are scheduled to go into production in 2018. In a previous theatre career spanning nearly three decades and on the London stage, she produced more than seventy critically acclaimed stage plays, performed leading roles in some thirty theatre productions and wrote numerous theatre plays. She co-founded, with Bruce Jamieson, Galleon Theatre Company Ltd. and the Greenwich Playhouse in London, which she artistically directed between 1995 and 2012. Most recently, Alice Executive Produced: Terence Davies’ hugely acclaimed feature film Sunset Song, which was selected for participation in the Toronto Film Festival (2015), and was in competition at the London Film Festival and at the San Sebastian Film Festival; and Roger Spottiswoode’s much anticipated ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ which Sony released across the UK on the 4th November 2016.
