PROJECT UPDATES AND MORE
GATEWAY DEVELOPMENTSGATEWAY85 CID HAS THE ONLY 3 OPPORTUNITY ZONES AVAILABLE The Federal Opportunity Zone Program is a new community and economic development tool that aims to drive long-term private investment into low-income communities throughout the country. The program was established by Congress in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and encourages investors with recently realized capital gains to invest in local businesses, real estate, or development projects in exchange for a reduction in their tax obligations. Recently, the Internal Revenue Service released its long-awaited second round of regulations on investing in areas designated as economically distressed under the Federal Opportunity Zone Program, with the new rules providing greater flexibility for leased properties. For more information on how you can take advantage of Federal Opportunity Zone funding, contact Emory Morsberger, Executive Director at (770) 409-8100 or emory@gateway85.com. PARTNER ACTIVITIESGwinnett County Transit Update - Route 35 Route 35 has a new schedule change that is now in effect. It will depart from the Doraville MARTA Station at 5:30am, and depart from Brook Hollow Parkway at North Norcross at 5:44am. For more information on the Route 35 schedule, visit Gwinnett Transit Routes and Schedules. Also, over the next few weeks, some Route 35 bus stops will be changed on Technology Parkway in Peachtree Corners. The City of Peachtree Corners and Sprint are working to create a transportation lab where autonomous vehicles will be tested. As a result, a few Route 35 bus stops will be either relocated or removed. Route 35 runs in only one direction along this corridor, so these bus stops are on just one side of the road.
