Good morning.  If you're anything like me, you have the best intentions of going above and beyond to show gratitude to your teams.  

And then things come up, and the moment slips away.  Or, I don't have a thank you card within reach or that Starbucks gift card to provide a little something special with the gesture.

Next thing I know, a week has gone by, and the thought and the moment have slipped away.

Today's gratitude challenge has changed that for me, and I am hopeful it can change it for you.

Gratitude Challenge

Let me begin with a story.

A few weeks ago, my office received a concerned email from the family member of a resident on a Saturday afternoon.  As I'm sure it does with your organization as well, this happens from time to time.

We triaged the concern, and the Director of Nursing at the community was all over it.  Within minutes she was on the phone with the concerned daughter and even took it upon herself to visit the resident on her day off the next day.

Not surprising; that's the type of leader and person she is.

I wanted to say thank you with more than just a "thank you" to show our appreciation.  I was determined not to let the weekend slip by with another positive intention accompanied by poor execution on my part.

Then, I stumbled upon an app called THNKS.

What I appreciate about THNKS is that downloading the app allows you to send a small or large gift to anyone, anywhere, via email or SMS.  

No more positive intentions followed by "I'll do that later when I have time."
