Prenatal Disability Education Summit: Registration Now Open

Dear customer,

The registration is now open for the Prenatal Disability Education Summit, sponsored by the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation. Each person receiving an invitation was hand-picked by the organizing committee as a top expert who has made significant contributions to the field. We also tried to balance invitations between disability advocates and self-advocates, policy experts, medical and genetics professionals, industry leaders, and academics.

This is not your typical conference. As expected, attendees at the Summit will hear updates about the current state of prenatal disability education in the first part of the morning from a range of experts. However, the bulk of the meeting will be spent with multi-disciplinary teams at focus tables where attendees will be identifying challenges and devising solutions about how to improve the prenatal diagnosis experiences for patients and how to administer prenatal screening/testing ethically. Our ultimate goal at the end of the meeting will be to create the content for a 5-year-plan with strategies we can work on collaboratively to improve patient diagnosis experiences and ensure the equitable representation of people with disabilities.

The Summit will be held from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM on November 12, 2021
at Kennedy Krieger Institute at the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus in Baltimore, Maryland with a registration cost of $75 to cover meals and supplies. An opening reception will also take place Thursday, November 11 from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM.

We want you to be part of this important conversation, but space is limited to 80 total attendees (including speakers), so please register as soon as possible to reserve your spot.

Registration Details

  • You can pay for registration by either check or credit card on our website.
  • If you choose to be a sponsor, certain sponsorship levels include free registration. Please let us know if you intend to be a sponsor, and we can make arrangements to process your registration and reserve your spot without the fee.
  • We will also have a number of registration scholarships available for representatives who may need financial assistance. Please email Stephanie Meredith if you'd like to attend and would need a scholarship.
  • Each stakeholder must register individually.
  • After you register, we will email you with travel information, including discount hotel room rates at a local hotel. We will also email you with a survey about your top choices of roundtables you'd like to participate in.
  • Each invited guest was specifically invited across a spectrum of stakeholders and condition groups. So if you would like to invite additional colleagues, please send us an email with your suggestion/request. We would like to accommodate as many stakeholders as possible, but we will need to make sure we have a balance across different areas of expertise and condition groups.
  • Because these are sensitive and nuanced conversations, our ideal is for this conference to be held in person where we can build relationships with each other. Because of the current trends with vaccinations, we are currently anticipating we will be able to hold the event in person.
