This month, we will celebrate the successful conclusion of the Tertiary Market Immersion Programme in Wellington and Auckland. The students who were in Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore in January 2019 will once again come together to share their stories. We will also showcase the four projects that they worked on throughout the programme. Our project with Toitoi Media, LatAm CAPE and Victoria University of Wellington is well underway and workshops for teachers will be held in in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch later this month. Read on for further details. During the Easter period, 12 talented high school students will take part in our Business Challenge programme to Vietnam, and a group of school teachers will visit Indonesia on our Global School Partnership Programme. The Market Readiness Programme has kicked off in Auckland and Hamilton, with further locations to be announced. Businesses interested in ASEAN or particular markets in ASEAN should visit our website for dates or contact their local Export NZ office to register their interest. Throughout the year, SEA CAPE will also host various public events in partnership with other NZ and ASEAN agencies. Tertiary Market Immersion Programme Networking EventNext week, SEA CAPE will host two TMIP Stakeholder events in Wellington (Monday April 15th) and Auckland (Tuesday April 16th) and we would like you to join us. Some of the 16 tertiary students who participated in TMIP in January, will speak about the knowledge and insight they gained in Southeast Asia and the group business ideas that they developed during the programme. Toitoi - Call for submissionsWe are delighted to be joining forces with Toitoi Media and the School of Languages and Cultures at Victoria University of Wellington to produce a special publication focusing on Southeast Asia. Young writers and artists aged 5-14 are invited to submit stories, poems and art exploring their connections with the vibrant cultures of Southeast Asia. Teachers are invited to join workshops to support the project in Auckland (Monday April 15th), Christchurch(Wednesday, April 17th) and Wellington (Thursday April 18th) Vietnam Business Challenge students selectedApril will be an exciting month for twelve business savvy secondary school students from across New Zealand as Business Challenge 2019 takes them to Vietnam! The trip is an opportunity for these young entrepreneurs to extend their global business knowledge and their understanding of the Vietnam trade environment. Market Readiness Programme (MRP)SEA CAPE's Market Readiness Programme (MRP) got off to a great start with two workshops completed and many more to be announced for 2019. MRP provides participating businesses with the mind-set, assessment tools and strategising preparation work needed for engaging in Southeast Asian markets. Attendees to date have been from a range of industries including food, beverage, education, agriculture, high-tech manufacturing and startup businesses. Global Schools Partnership ProjectIn collaboration with the Asia New Zealand Foundation, six New Zealand teachers will travel to Jakarta this month. They will learn about Indonesia and Islam up close and personal on a two-way exchange programme. The teachers will be staying at the homes of their Indonesian partner teachers and visiting their classrooms to get a taste of Indonesian education, life, and culture. Their Indonesian partner teachers will in turn visit New Zealand later this year to learn about our culture and education.
