IEEE-ISTO Honored With Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Award

IEEE-ISTO has been awarded the tenth annual Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Achievement Award . Presented on 16 June 2010 during an early-morning ceremony at the Design Automation Conference in Anaheim, CA, the Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Achievement Award is bestowed annually to an organization that succeeds in driving market acceptance, adoption and implementation of standardized technologies. IEEE-ISTO Quality Initiative Hits New Milestones

The IEEE-ISTO established a Quality Initiative (Q.I.) project in 2008 whereby the organization would review existing processes and identify measurements of quality improvements in our ongoing effort to adhere to and support best business practices. By adhering to best business practices, IEEE-ISTO can assure programs that hey are receiving the highest levels of quality support.  

Joan Woolery, IEEE-ISTO Sr. Program Manager, has been spearheading the project since its launch in 2008.  Recently achieved milestones that will be leveraged directly by current and future IEEE-ISTO programs include a library of document templates which includes templates for program bylaws, membership agreements, financial policy and operating budget to name a few.  Contact your program manager to learn more about the Quality Initiative.

IEEE-ISTO Announces Forum to Evolve Interconnect Modeling Standard

IEEE-ISTO recently facilitated the formation and launch of the Interconnect Modeling Technical Advisory Board (IMTAB).  The new organization was formed to shepherd the evolution of the Interconnect Technology Format into an industry standard format for interconnect parasitic modeling.  

IMTAB was launched on 7 June 2010.  Founding members include representatives from industry-leading semiconductor companies, EDA companies and silicon foundries including Altera Corporation, AMD, Apache Design Solutions, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, LSI Corporation, Magma Design Automation, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics and Synopsys.  Click here for more information on IMTAB.

ICAP Launches Directories for Test Labs and Products That Implement IEEE Standards

Staff Spotlight

Promotions - Joni Brennan has been promoted to Sr. Program Manager. Her promotion coincides with a significant expansion of responsibilities in Kantara Initiative, where she has been named Managing Director. Joni will oversee day-to-day operations of Kantara Initiative, working in partnership with the program's Board of Trustees and officers. 

Welcome Aboard - Rosalinda Formoso-Saravia, has accepted a new role returning to IEEE-ISTO. In her new role, IEEE-ISTO Coordinator, Rosalinda is focused exclusively on providing core membership support across all of IEEE-ISTO programs. Rosalinda worked for IEEE-ISTO previously from 2000-2006.

Kudos - Jon Adams, IEEE-ISTO Board of Directors, Freescale Semiconductor, was elevated to Senior Member of IEEE.

Stork Alert - Maria Trujillo, IEEE-ISTO Accounting Associate, welcomed a baby boy on 29 April, weighing 8 lbs.  Both mom and baby Michael are doing well.
