Welcome to the latest edition of Brightside from OWB.

Last month something happened, something bigger than we could all imagine… Shari fluffed her first shot on the Windsor Academy Trust Golf Day (she will tell you it was a practice swing, yeah right!)

So amidst the other exciting opportunities June served up we're bringing you the brightest Brightside ever, a small sprinkle of love and goodness to brighten up your inboxes and keep you smiling whilst out there developing business, marketing brands and selling more.

We’ve taken a quick review of all the support we are giving to our great friends and colleagues doing amazing things for charities and causes close to their hearts that help people every day.

So smiles on, buckle up, dust down, let’s do it and do it better than ever.

Captain Brightside

...Resident OWB daredevil Shari will be taking to the skies this summer, strapped to the front of a plane performing zooms and loops at 130mph... Rather her than us! Show your support for Shari and MacIntyre, our Charity of the Year, by digging deep and sponsoring Shari - details to follow soon...

WATCH OUT FOR MORE DETAILS SOON!

Our friends over at LettingaProperty.com have been busy this year, with Shari joining the guys in a VERY muddy 10 mile obstacle race back in May - she still can’t get the mud out of her trainers!

June saw their team of 10 walkers complete 37kms over a 5,000ft ascent in just over 11 hours, raising money for Help for Heroes. We’re exhausted just thinking about it. Congratulations to the LettingaProperty.com team - looking forward to hearing what you’re up to for the rest of the year! You can donate to this worthy cause via their JustGiving page.

...Or is that a bunker? OWB Account Manager, Mike Eaton took his eyes off the fairway for a little too long at the Windsor Academy Trust Golf Day, with hilarious consequences.

Held at the beautiful Hagley Golf Course, the day included a dinner and charity auction to raise money for the Trust.

LITTLE LEGS GOING A LONG WAY
From OWB client, Lloyds Banking Group comes the story of Ben and Edward Collins... Following the diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumour in his twin brother Edward, Ben decided, at the tender age of three, to do something to help. He and his buddies took part in the Great Bristol Family Mile, where their little legs ran a mile and raised over £2,500 for Bristol Children’s Hospital. Find out more and donate to this amazing cause on their JustGiving page.

OWB SUPPORTS GIBBON FOREST
We are proud to support the new £2m gibbon habitat, one of the largest gibbon facilities in Europe, Twycross Zoo's most ambitious development to date.

“This is a fantastic development, it’s ten times larger than the previous area, especially designed to replicate the natural forest environment of gibbons as well as provide an exciting new experience for visitors, so why not get involved?” comments Andy Wilkinson. “There are loads of opportunities for other ambitious businesses to get involved - call me!”

MARK 'MO'RMAN
The son of a UK, European and World Champion runner; the 13.1 mile Great North Run should be a breeze for 34-year-old Mark Norman. Or so he thinks!

Our super-talented Senior Designer Norm is donning his short shorts and doing the Mobot to raise money for Maggies - helping people with cancer and their families. Find out more about the charity and sponsor Norm via his JustGiving page.

AROUND THE WORLD IN...
AN ELECTRIC CAR?

OWB are pleased to support a record breaking attempt by Simon Summerby-Bent (Colliers International), Nigel Freshman (Smooth Radio) and Richard Dean (Rybrook BMW) to drive non-stop the length of Britain in two BMW i3’s provided and sponsored by our wonderful client Rybrook BMW Warwick. The attempt is a world first, aiming to raise £50,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Whizz Kidz and Global’s Make Some Noise charities. Further information can be found here.

LDC GOES COAST TO COLS...
Colleagues from leading private equity firm LDC will soon be mounting their saddles to ride 543 miles in five days from the North Coast of France to Col du Tourmalet near the Spanish Border, all to raise money for Cancer Research UK (donate to this worthy cause via their JustGiving page). Peaking at 2,115m above sea level, the ride will be no plain sailing, and we wish the team the best of luck when they set off today!
