Final Edition of Monday Morning MBA
This is my final edition of Monday Morning MBA for the 2011-2012 school year. Over the course of the last nine months, we published 21 newsletters covering a myriad of topics related to career strategies, leadership insights, workshops and programs and developing your brand and enhancing your network. We used Monday Morning MBA as a means to reach students with timely information on career fairs, jobs opportunities and ways to engage with employers.
Our overall intent with the newsletter was to keep MBA students focused, directed and connected with the latest information specific to your career strategy and search. We trust that you have found it to be a useful source of information and not only a weekly reminder of upcoming events but also a means to keep you on track to accomplish your career goals.
If you have thoughts on how to improve the newsletter or what you'd like to see in next year's issues, I'd like to hear from you. Please email me at westfall@illinois.edu
SalaryView Profiles Hit 65%!

Even if you are still seeking, please take a few minutes to register and set up your profile.
Remember, it's as easy as 1-2-3:
If you've accepted an internship or full time offer recently or land one over the summer, don't forget to log back into SalaryView and update your information.
SalaryView...detailed salary information you need from your school anytime anywhere!
The SalaryView with Kenny Berlin
Kenny Berlin is CEO and Founder of SalaryView.
Q: I'm concerned about students being able to identify individuals during detailed salary searches...what can I do?
A: We understand that the deeper and more specific a salary search is, the more likely it is that personally identifiable information will be given out. Therefore, SalaryView has a default setting where search results can only be displayed when a set number of other students match the search, otherwise, "Insufficient Data" is displayed and the student is encouraged to search at a broader level. We use the same standards used by MBA CSC which is generally accepted by every school.

Q: What career advice do you give people?
A: I think people in general don't take enough risks. Some people feel that before they can take on that next challenge they need to be 100 percent ready. It's just not true. Even people in their jobs aren't perfect at their jobs.
So my biggest advice to people is to step out there. Take the risk and deal with it. What is the worst that could happen? It's about thriving on risk instead of shrinking from risk.
