Senior Doctors Morale and Clinical Engagement Survey
The AMA (WA) is conducting a Morale and Clinical Engagement Survey for Senior Doctor AMA (WA) members who are employed by or provide services at WA public hospitals and health services. Senior Doctors have been emailed inviting them to complete the confidential survey. The AMA (WA) strongly encourages Senior Doctors to complete the survey. The results of the 2017 Survey were presented to all relevant WA Health Service Providers, employers and the Government and resulted in a number of positive changes across the WA Health System.
The AMA (WA) is conducting the 2019 Survey following reports across WA of deteriorating morale and poor engagement. It is important that Senior Doctors, with positive and negative experiences, complete the survey. Please check your email for a link to the survey, alternatively you can email david.copland@amawa.com.au to request a survey link.

AMA (WA) supports 'safe access zones'
Patients should always be able to access medical practitioners without obstruction or fear, the Australian Medical Association (WA) said recently after releasing its reaction to the State Government’s discussion paper on ‘safe access zones’ around premises that provide abortion services.
“Everyone has the right to access health care and the AMA (WA) supports the introduction of safe access zones around such premises,” AMA (WA) President Dr Omar Khorshid said.
Some individuals or organisations have in the past engaged in protests or “sidewalk counselling” outside health facilities, in a deliberate effort to stop or discourage women seeking access to such services and advice.
