The Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show is ...

A TRIP!  This is my 5th year of attending but it has been happening for 35 + years.  I have a great time at this show.  In part, because it is where I get to connect with the designers I represent who live and work in Bali:  Mariella Pilato, Lou Guerin, Momo Mordant and Liz Marx representing the Lou Zeldis Collection. I actually get to see them and their work face to face.

Then there is a whole other world of poking around and finding the "new".  Trust me, anyone who has ever been there knows that there is something for everyone - with a huge range.  For me, it is the hunt for anything cool.

The Gem Show sounds like a single event, but it actually happens all across Tucson at more than 40 sites. Large white tents are everywhere, some of which are filled with treasures.

Anyway, I did find some cool stuff.  Drop by sooner than later for the best selection as there are lots of ... just found one or two ... in the collection.  All will be revealed as of Wednesday, February 10th.

Cheers,

Victoria

Bé Diem Domingo

Ebony wood and Boar tusk from West Africa - new for us - eco-sustainable jewelry

Mariella Pilato

Handwoven brass and stainless steel with sterling silver elements

Lou Guerin

New from Lou - I always hit Lou's booth first, so I can scoop up the specific sizes and colors I know you want ... I suggest you do the same if you want a new Lou Guerin!

Momo Mordant

I love his "Saracen" ring.  Momo's silversmiths use the granulation technique which is labor intensive and at once so amazing.  Lucky us, they still do it.
