This is a fundraising initiative by the scouts so all for a great cause so please liaise with them directly - we can't help. Easy Bike and Coach Transfer to Ride to the Sun! Following a great response to our Survey Monkey poll, we are pleased to confirm we are organising easy and accessible bike and coach transport to the Ride to the Sun on Saturday 23rd June. We are now taking reservations on a first-come-first-served basis, and as we are anticipating high demand, please book early to avoid disappointment. By using our services, you are supporting fundraising efforts to help local Scouts and those from less privileged countries to achieve their dreams of attending the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA, in 2019. Services on Offer
· Luxury coach service from the Cramond area to the start of RttS £20 pp
· Bike transport by lorry with protective packaging £20 per bike
· Bags returned from Carlisle for collection at the finish point £5 per bag Next Steps If you are interested, please send an email to ridetothesun.transport@cramond-scouts.org.uk providing: · your name, address, mobile number and email address · the number of coach seats, bikes and bags you wish to book. We will reply with: · an invoice with the sum payable · your booking reference · details for payment via online banking. You should make payment within 3 days to secure your booking. We will issue an email confirming receipt of payment. Please note this service is run by Cramond Scouts and the organisers of Ride to the Sun are not responsible for any of the organisation or transport. We will be loading bicycles between 2 and 3pm on Saturday 23rd June and you will be assigned a specific check-in time in advance of departure with your receipt. Coach passengers should be ready to board from 3pm onwards, ready for sharp departure at 3.30pm. Coach and lorry depart Cramond at 3.30pm, arriving at Binks Car Park, Carlisle, for 6pm Bikes unloaded at Carlisle and will be available between 6.30 and 7.30pm Bags deposited for return to Cramond for 7.30pm Bags available for collection at Cramond Kirk Hall between 2 and 7am Sunday 24th June. Bike Care Loading/unloading and transport of bikes will be undertaken by adults with experience of cycling, using advice from organisers of other large-scale events where bikes are transported Bikes will be protected by packaging in transit based on advice from organisers of other large-scale events with bike transport experience Bike mechanic available in Carlisle to assist cyclists with any last-minute snags Terms and Conditions Participants accept bicycles are placed and transferred in our vehicle at their own risk and the organiser is not liable for any loss or damage caused during this process. Timings are based on typical loading, unloading and travel times, and may be impacted by a number of factors out of our control Bookings are non-refundable If you arrive late, miss check in and departure time we cannot be responsible for your revised travel. Your details will be held for the purposes of contacting you concerning transport for Ride to the Sun 2018 and will be deleted within 6 months of the event. World Scout Jamboree This service is provided by volunteers as a fund-raising activity to support scouts from less privileged countries - as well as two local Scouts and one Explorer from Cramond - to attend the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in 2019, and is organised under Craigalmond District Scout Council, which is registered with the Scottish Charity Regulator under SC027398. The World Scout Jamboree is the largest camping event organized by the Scout Movement, gathering as many as 50,000 Scouts and leaders every four years from the 165 National Scout Organizations in more than 200 countries and territories. It is an educational event that brings together the world’s young people to promote peace, mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills. The World Scout Jamboree includes a wide variety of outdoor adventure activities and places a great emphasis on everyday life and social interaction among different cultures that is experienced through the Scouting campsite.
