Opening Our Doors & Creating a Place for Community at our Open House
Our vision for the Open House was always about more than introducing our new East 10th Street home. This was our opportunity to say, "Come in. This space belongs to the community, too"
We wanted people to experience Arts for Learning Indiana in action—to see, hear, make, explore, connect, and understand firsthand the role creativity can play in bringing people together.
With over 250 people in attendance, Mayor Hogsett declaring June 27th "Arts for Learning Day," and the amazing support of our sponsors & community members—it's safe to say that our vision became a reality.
Attendees enjoyed live performances by our Teaching Artists, hands-on artmaking stations, art exhibitions, as well as opportunities to explore our new space.
But the magic didn’t stop at our front doors! We even closed down the block, allowing the celebration to spill into the 10th Street neighborhood. This created a walkable atmosphere where people could meet new faces, enjoy performances, and simply be together—exactly what we hoped our new home would become.
Most importantly, we made this event accessible—no barriers, no admission price, and thanks to our amazing sponsors, a high-quality arts experience for all.

ArtForce: Where Creativity Meets Career Readiness
This summer, we welcomed another talented group of high school students to ArtForce, our free three-week intensive summer program that empowers young artists to explore how their creativity can translate into real-world opportunities.
In partnership with Ivy Tech Community College, students worked alongside professional artists to strengthen their artistic skills while gaining hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, collaboration, and career development.
Throughout the program, students created original work, explored the business side of being a working artist, and collaborated on a mural at Ivy Tech. The experience culminated in a public exhibition and reception at the Ivy Tech Galleries as well as our Open House, where students had the opportunity to proudly share their work with family, friends, and the community.
ArtForce is about more than creating art—it helps young people recognize their creativity as a strength, build career-ready skills, and discover new possibilities for their future.
This year, ArtForce is expanding from a summer intensive into a year-long experience, offering students even more opportunities for creative and career growth. Best of all, ArtForce is offered at no cost to students thanks to generous supporters like you.

For over six decades, we’ve worked hard to enrich lives by integrating creativity and artistic expression into learning. From fostering imagination in young minds to empowering educators with innovative tools, our mission remains as vibrant as ever.

In its early years, Arts for Learning Indiana was known as Young Audiences Indiana. Driven by the mission to expand access to arts education in Indiana classrooms, the work had only just begun!
