Call for providers – tender open for Career Support for Creatives serviceManatū Taonga and the Ministry of Social Development are looking for organisations in the Auckland, Waikato and Nelson regions to be part of a pilot over the next few years for a new service that offers career support for those in the creative sector. This new service will support both creative jobseekers (whether currently receiving a benefit or not) and established creative sector workers affected by the impact of COVID-19. Individuals will be able to develop the non-creative skills and receive the training needed to work and thrive in the arts and creative sector. It is envisaged the service would focus on skills in the areas of business management, contract negotiation, marketing, networking, applying for funding, and linking people to employment opportunities. We’re encouraging a broad range of interested providers in these regions to submit a tender proposal, including Māori and Pasifika and other organisations with experience in the arts sector. You can find more information about the service, what we’re looking for and how to apply on the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) website. Submissions close at midday on 9 October 2020. Anyone needing assistance completing the tender application via GETS can contact: CreativesTender@msd.govt.nz. The new Career Support for Creatives pilot is a partnership between Manatū Taonga and the Ministry for Social Development, and part of a suite of initiatives in the Manatū Taonga Arts and Culture COVID Recovery Programme.
