Tuesday July 24, 2018 Dear Friends, Supporters and Students, Get ready to Rosé the Night Away! While the Las Vegas Valley is sizzling in the summer heat, ECF is making sure summer never ends by bringing the Hamptons to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at M.E.N.U.S. 2018: Rosé Soirée on Friday, October 12th. Guests at our annual event are invited to dine in pink and white and will be treated to an upscale evening reminiscent of a summer picnic in the Hamptons, a theme carried out through decor, summer flavors, upbeat music and posh rosé themed drinks upon entry. M.E.N.U.S. 2018: Rosé Soirée will be a night under the stars by the Paradise Pool at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The evening will be highlighted by more than 50 of the city’s finest chefs, restaurants, mixologists and beverage distributors. This all-white evening will feature a headlining performance by multi-platinum artist Mat Kearney, extravagant silent auction, extended dine-around, exciting entertainment, chic VIP area and notable after party. Each year ECF honors an individual who has gone above and beyond to make an impact on Las Vegas and our ECF students. This year we are proud to honor local philanthropists Don and Lorie Forman, United Nissan, for their generous contributions to our students and the entire Las Vegas community. As we continue to confirm details on what is expected to be the biggest and best M.E.N.U.S. yet, we are looking for businesses to participate in the event. Unique sponsorship opportunities are available in Presenting, Presidential, UNLV Full-Ride Scholarship, Collegiate Scholarship, and Academic Scholarship varieties. M.E.N.U.S. 2018 is expected to attract more than 1,000 guests, with tickets priced at $500 each. More information on sponsorships and participation may be found below or by contacting Melissa Arias at 702.932.5098 or melissa@ecflv.org. *Mentorship Matters VIP dinner to take place in winter 2019. M.E.N.U.S. 2018 HONORING DON AND LORIE FORMANDon and Lorie Forman both moved to Las Vegas in the mid ‘90s. Don is from Seattle and Lorie is from Long Island, NY. In spring 2003, Don was given the opportunity to buy United Auto Group after rising through the car automotive ranks and has owned and operated United Nissan ever since. He expanded in Las Vegas and, at one point, owned 6 different franchises. Most recently, Don owned additional Nissan franchises in Tustin, Corona and San Diego. Lorie, an International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness professional bikini competitor, is the foundation behind the Forman family. In addition to her career in fitness and the family’s charity interests, Lorie keeps a full schedule with the couple’s four children, Karl, Alex, Ashlee, and Alexis. Don and Lorie are extremely committed to our Las Vegas and Henderson communities. Both enjoy donating to our military, local law enforcement, school districts and Hispanic community. This year, Don and Lorie gave each of ECF’s newest students a hand up in life by gifting them a new Nissan. If you ask Don and Lorie about their favorite opportunity to give, unanimously they would respond with the Fox 5 Surprise Squad. “The joy you get from giving in such a spontaneous situation is hard to duplicate. We know that every dollar donated is going straight to whomever needs it. The hardest part is holding back your own emotions when you know that you have helped change someone’s course in life or just made their day a bit brighter,” said Lorie Forman. Both Don and Lorie enjoy various hobbies like collecting classic cars and wine. They also love spending time at their home in Dana Point, California.
