Tackling data is a community effort.  We could use a hand with the next steps:

• Thanks to collaborating with folks from OKFN and Datakind at Tactical Tech's Info Activism Camp we have created Data cleanup guidelines and some data projects to help the community. These are wiki pages that can be simply edited or little mini-projects for you to tackle. Simply login to the wiki and contribute.
• We are also collaborating with the Data Science for Social Good Fellows. They are seeking community input into their tool development as well as any Ushahidi data sets that you would be willing to share with them for testing. 

Sharing best practices is key to building great map projects. Here are some videos and blog posts to have activate the toolkits.

• iHub Research released their Uchaguzi Monitoring and Evaluation Report (Kenyan Elections 2013). (Video chat on the findings.)
• Mapping Syria discussed the complexities of these long term mapping projects. See the video.

On the Map topic, we on a journey to improve Ushahidi with our next version called "lamu" or 3.0.  (Here's a sneak peak of one of the views.)

The largest Open Source Conference, OSCON by O'Reilly, is around the corner. We're in a session about Becoming a Digital Humanitarian with Open Source and Open Data. We will be launching a new program to help more developers Get Involved. Until then, check out our wiki pages outlining ways to get involved by product and our recent post about priority tickets.
