Djuna Barnes was born on June 12, 1892, in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. Her works include The Book of Repulsive Women (Bruno Chap Books, 1915) and Nightwood
(Faber and Faber, 1937). She died on June 18, 1982, in New York City.
