Notes from the North

August 17, 2011

August in Alaska is for Gourmets!

Hi Notes from the North Subscriber!

This year's season is almost at an end, but we wanted to share some news and event info, just in case you'll be in the area.

Be it on the white tablecloths of Talkeetna's Foraker Restaurant, or the rustic tables of Fox Island Day Lodge, we pride ourselves on delivering the best of Alaskan cuisine. Join us—on land or afloat—in Seward, Whittier, or Talkeetna. We've got something special for you.

The Resurrection Roadhouse

Seward, Alaska
Most people think "beer" when they hear "roadhouse"—and we've certainly got that covered!—but we're proud to announce that the Resurrection Roadhouse has been recognized with Wine Spectator's 2011 Award of Excellence for its diverse and well-chosen wine selection.

We're also proud of Chef Erik Slater, who was chosen to represent the State of Alaska in the Great American Seafood Cook-Off earlier this month. Competition was fierce, and ultimately Alabama won the day, but Chef Erik was honored to serve as our ambassador of cuisine, and looks forward to a re-match next year.
