The European lighthouse cities Vienna, Munich and Lyon; the follower cities Santiago de Compostela, Sofia and Venice; and the observer cities Kiev and Yokohama come together in order to improve the quality of life of their citizens. Below you will find updates on the development of co-created and replicable Smart City solutions in 5 concrete areas– citizen engagement, district heating & renewable energy, holistic refurbishment, smart data and e-mobility. Smarter Together Munich Hosts Peer-to-Peer WorkshopFrom 17-19 January, Smarter Together project partners and Lighthouse cities Lyon, Munich and Vienna reconvened for a 3-day peer-to-peer workshop in Munich, Germany. Smarter Together Contributes to INEA Replication WorkshopOn 26 January, more than 120 cities and project partners met to discuss smart city solutions and the potential for replication between Lighthouse and Follower cities in the context of the H2020 SCC programme. Munich to Trial Several Smart City Innovations in 2018A number of Munich innovations will go into service in 2018: smart lamp posts, e‑mobility stations, smart home elements and a smart data platform are just some of the solutions developed in the Bavarian capital. South East European Conference on Smart Cities 27-29 March - Sofia, Bulgaria The topics covered by this Smart Cities event are related to new urban technologies: the digital infrastructure system for citizens to live better; access to information; integrated services like intelligent energy, water, waste and resource management.
