Holiday programmes for high school students
Our Environmental Education Centre will be offering three courses for high school students during the June/July holidays. The ESKOM Matric Life Science Revision Course will run from 24-28 June, the ESKOM Marine Science Course will take place from 1-5 July, and the SeaFans Course, aimed at Grade 8 and 9 students, will be held from 8-12 July 2013.

Windmills, whales and wind turbines
Have you ever noticed the wind turbine on the roof of the Aquarium? It allows us to generate renewable energy, which is used to supplement the power requirements of our admin offices.
Wind turbines demonstrate that there are alternatives to fossil fuels, and that it is possible for us to live sustainably within the carrying capacity of our planet – if only we dare to apply our minds creatively, using nature as our guide and mentor.
