Hailing from Southern Italy, this wine is a marriage of Italian grapes and American oak, offering lots of soft, rich fruit, and bold oak notes. Give Dad just what he wanted!
Tasting Notes: The Wanted Zin 2017 is made from 100% Primitivo grapes (renamed Zinfandel after immigrating to California), which bring rich fruit notes of cherry, plum and blueberry. With half of the wine seeing 12 months in American oak barrels, the flavours of toasted wood, vanilla, and spices bring balance and complexity to the ripe fruit and silky-smooth tannins, making this the perfect wine for toasting another year of Dad being Dad!

Terroir/Region: The Wanted Zin hails from the Salento region of Puglia in Southern Italy. This is the heart of Primitivo (a.k.a. Zinfandel) production in Italy, and it has been for a long time. Here the ancient “Alberello” (or “Little Tree”) vine growing system is used to ensure top quality. It involves lots of work in the vineyard, with each vine being individually trimmed and cared for. You’ll have to buy a bottle to see what all of that hard work tastes like!
Producer: Orion Wines was founded by three veterans of the global wine trade with a simple philosophy, produce the best and most interesting wines possible at fair prices. They also hold sustainable farming in high regard, using biodiversity and natural methods to skip the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
