Spring is getting off to a great start this week with a number of exciting online events including comedy, theatre and music performances, virtual cook-alongs and live poetry and talks. For the little ones, there's a special virtual story time with the Lynn Museum tomorrow morning that they wouldn't want to miss out on. As ever, be sure to check out our Partner updates at the end!
Norwich Fringe Festival 2021 is going virtual for its first year! This much-needed event features new theatre, comedy, music, cabaret, visual art and mixed media performances from creatives and makers from across the city, Norfolk and beyond. All performances will be streamed online with a huge range of live performances taking place in pop-up TV studios, homes and other special locations. Take a look at the dedicated Norwich Fringe website to see the full line-up for each day. Day tickets range from £4-£9.

Curious Cooks is back for two online cook-alongs this week- Mother's Day and St. Patricks Day. Hosted by Byfords chef Richard Knights, these free virtual events take place on Zoom and Facebook Live and will teach you how to make a delicious meal and tasty dessert for each occasion. The Mother's Day Special is on Sunday 14 at 3pm, where you will learn to make goats cheese and thyme-stuffed chicken breast in a ratatouille bake and a chocolate and pear loaf cake for dessert.
The St. Patrick's Day Curious Cooks is on Wednesday 17 at 5pm, where you will make Irish Stew and a Chocolate and Guinness mousse.

UEA Live Presents Inua Ellams
The latest event in the UEA Live Spring programme. Join award-winning poet, playwright and performer Inua Ellams as he discusses and reads from his latest poetry collection The Actual. Inua was born in Nigeria and focuses on themes around identity, displacement and destiny in a symphony of personal and political fury. He will be in conversation with Alison Winch, UEA Live Co-Director and lecturer in Media Studies at UEA. When purchasing a ticket, there is the option to purchase a copy of his latest poetry collection too.

War Victims of the English Civil War and their Stories
Find out about the effects of the English Civil War in Norfolk and Norwich with this talk by Professor Andrew Hopper. Delving into the Norfolk Record Office's archives, Professor Hopper will present evidence that demonstrates the care and welfare afforded to maimed soldiers, war widows and orphans of the English Civil Wars across the county at the time. All research has been compiled during an extensive four-year project that can be accessed here. This is a free event to watch, just scroll down to the event on the What's On page on the Norfolk Record Office's website.

Virtual Museum Storytime: We're Going On A Bear Hunt
If you are in need of an event to keep the little ones occupied, make sure you sign up to the Lynn Museum's free digital story-time session. This Friday they will be reading the children's classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury, and teach you how to make a collage craft at home. Friday 12 March
