Spring 2016 Graduation

 

The deadline to RSVP for the CGS Graduation Reception and Recongition Ceremony held on Friday, April 29 is TOMORROW, FRIDAY APRIL 8. Students who have not yet RSVP'd will receive one final reminder email with directions on how to RSVP. Any questions, please contact Jillian at jar24@pitt.edu.

 

The Pitt-wide Commencement event will be held on Sunday, May 1. Students attending this event should attend Graduation Central to receive directions for the event and to purchase your cap and gown (which is required for the May 1 event.)

Humanities in Continuing Education

On Wednesday March 23, the College of General Studies successfully organized the Humanities in Continuing Education—an exciting one-day series of events in conjunction with the Provost’s Year of the Humanities.

 

The program featured a public lecture on Baroque Art, a student-alumni panel, and a photo and video exhibit. All are welcome to still view the exhibit that currently hangs in the McCarl Center for Nontraditional Education, 1400 Wesley S. Posvar Hall.

Featured CGS Scholarship: Summer Internship

The College of General Studies Summer Internship Scholarship can alleviate the financial burden and time constraints of an unpaid internship. Motivated students are encouraged to apply. This scholarship covers the cost of tuition and fees for a 3-credit summer internship.

Writing Help Now Available for CGS and Veteran Students

 

The McCarl Center is now offering CGS and veteran students one-on-one consultations and tutoring to help with your papers, projects and writing assignments.


Our new writing tutor, April Flynn, is available to meet with you via in-person, phone, Skype video or asynchronous online consultations, on Tuesdays from 1 - 7p.m., and on Fridays from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. All in-person appointments will take place in the McCarl Center, 1400 Posvar Hall.


You can make appointments by calling the Pitt Writing Center at (412) 624-6556, or you can schedule an appointment through the Writing Center’s online scheduler pitt.mywconline.com. Be sure to select the CGS Students/Veterans 2164 Spring schedule from the dropdown menu!
