Healthy homemade gifts

This Christmas, why don't you ditch the Roses and try healthy homemade treats? We have written a blog to help you do just that.

Happy holiday hosting

Christmas doesn't have to be a time of over indulging. Check out our blog on happy holiday hosting to help you provide your guests with healthy options without becoming the Grinch!

Health risks to avoid over the holiday period

Alcohol

Alcohol is really bad for your body. There is really no way to sugar coat that. Our liver function, immune system and metabolism are just some of the things that heavy drinking negatively impacts.

Tips if you do choose to drink:

• Eat something before drinking to slow down the absorption of alcohol.
• Make every second drink water, try one of our fancy ones!
• Avoid combining alcohol with energy drinks.
• Try some lower alcohol options like light beer and lower alcohol wine.

Weight Gain

This is a tricky time of year if you are watching your weight. Every meal is feast, the drinks are flowing and routine falls by the wayside. One blow-out day is nothing to stress about, but keep these tips in mind to stay on track.

• Load up on vegetables.
• Space your drinks.
• Pack up your leftovers.
• Get active with the family.
• Try giving good-for-you gifts such as fruit, active wear or cooking classes instead of chocolate and booze.

How about our crab, corn and lettuce boats for a seafood entree?

Christmas just isn't complete without a roast.Try this lemon and herb roasted chicken with vegetables.

Try a LiveLighter dessert this Christmas. Our tip is apple pudding with cinnamon custard
