UAE and US Lead 50 Partner Nations to Enhance Food Security and Fight Climate Change
UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Mariam Almheiri and US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack co-hosted the Agriculture Innovation Mission (AIM) for Climate Summit in Washington, D.C. The event mobilized 500 partners, 50 nations and $13 billion to enhance food security and make farming and food production more environmentally friendly. Climate has a significant impact on how food is grown and produced, and the UAE and US are leading the global effort to meet this challenge.
As Minister Almheiri highlighted on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, “[AIM for Climate] is bringing together the Global South and the Global North to exchange innovations and ideas, share knowledge and build partnerships…to climate-proof and future-proof our food and ag systems.”
UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Visits US to Create New Opportunities for Business
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led a delegation of UAE officials, business leaders and investors to the SelectUSA Investment Summit, where they engaged with corporate leaders to identify new opportunities to do business together. He also met with business and community leaders in Austin, Texas to discuss opportunities in the UAE across rapidly growing sectors, including IT, automotive parts and machinery.

Today, Senior Official Kat Fotovat met with the Director of the American Affairs @MoFAICUAE Dr. Saghira Al-Ahbabi to discuss shared U.S.-UAE commitments to gender equality, addressing the needs of marginalized communities, and the role women can play in mitigating climate-related disasters.
The US is the #UAE’s fourth largest trade partner with non-oil trade exceeding $30bn in 2022. @SecRaimondo and I held positive talks on developing our trade and investment relationship and ensuring the seamless flow of goods, services and investments between our nations.
