Membership Renewal

Don't forget to renew your membership! Membership is only $50 a year, and only $15 for law students. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome - you do not have to be Puerto Rican to join the PRBA.

PRBA Board Nominations

Elections of board members is around the corner for the 2023-2025 term. If you are interested on serving on the board or nominating someone for the board, please submit your nomination via email to prba@prbalawil.com by January 31st. The membership will receive the list of candidates and submit votes by February 14th.  The swearing in of the board will take place at our next general meeting in March (date & location TBD).  Your membership must be in good standing to vote as well as to serve on the board, so don't forget to renew!

SoapBox Documentary Screening Jan. 30th 

Come out to watch the final public screening of Seguimos Aqui, a documentary following four LGBTQ+ identifying Latinx Chicagoans navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, interpersonal struggles, and community triumphs  throughout 2020. This project is a collaboration with the Association of Latino/as/x Motivating Action  (ALMA) and the Chicago History Museum.

THIRD DISTRICT APPELLATE COURT - Clerk of the Clerk

This is a constitutionally, highly responsible professional, supervisory and administrative position. The Clerk of the Appellate Court is appointed by the Appellate Court Justices within one of the five Appellate Districts. The Clerk is responsible for administering all phases of work in docketing case flow management and other areas of operations necessary to execute the responsibilities of the office. Work is performed under the general direction of the presiding judge or Chairman of the Executive Committee as appropriate and is reviewed through conferences and reports, and on the basis of results obtained. SALARY: Commensurate with experience. EDUCATION, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience/training in the processing of litigating Trial Court Cases/Appeals. J.D. REQUIRED. Applicants must live within the boundaries of the Third District (Bureau, DuPage, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, LaSalle, and Will County). Applicant must have the ability to travel throughout the state including overnight stays as required. CHAMBERS OF JUSTICE ANN BRACKLEY JORGENSEN – Appellate Court Judicial Secretary/Law Clerk

Justice Ann Brackley Jorgensen of the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District, seeks a Judicial Secretary/Law Clerk for an opening in her chambers in Wheaton, Illinois. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Judicial Secretary/Law Clerk conducts legal research and drafts memoranda, orders, and opinions for the justice. The position additionally requires administrative duties, including corresponding with the courthouse and other chambers, tracking the status of motions and cases, paying bills, and maintaining case files. Applicants must have exceptional organization skills. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school and licensed in Illinois or pending bar examination in Illinois. ANNUAL SALARY $87,391 per year
