Welcome to our autumn newsletterThis issue we showcase how some of our latest clients are finding new uses for our GIS tools and expertise, look in detail at the constantly changing postcode sector network across the UK, and reveal the latest Prospex update along with our ambitious growth plans for November. McGinley save two days a week using TimeTravelWith the new Doctor Who making her first appearance this month, we have deliberately avoided shouting about our TimeTravel (journey time and distance data) product on social media, but our latest case study shows how it actually does save time. McGinley Support Services have estimated that by automating their mileage calculations they have saved two hours per team each week. Across the organisation that ads up to a staggering two staff days per week! The power of postcode sectorsIndividual postcodes are incredibly useful in terms of finding locations and receiving post, but the larger postcode sectors are unsung heroes, offering a very powerful analytical unit for organisations and businesses. In our latest blog, we explore the ever-changing shape of the UK’s postcode sectors, how they enhance Geographic Information Systems, and the challenges of creating and maintaining meaningful boundaries around these organic analytical units. Intelligent territory managementWe are very proud to be working with Affinage International Hair Cosmetics and Rexel UK to help them manage their distribution networks. Both clients approach network management in different ways, Affinage using mainly independent resellers, whilst Rexel manage their own branch network. Between them, they demonstrate the flexibility of our Prospex system in offering all of the tools you could require for efficient network management. Are you running the latest version of Prospex?October sees the release of our latest version of Prospex. If you are an existing user, you should have received an email containing your personalised download link to the correct version for your organisation. The latest version reduces the local system resources required for the software and updates all the rasters (maps) to the latest versions available, so make sure you download and install it as soon as possible to benefit from these new features. If you haven't received your update email, or have any problems with the upgrade, please get in touch. Our ambitious growth targetOur long-term subscribers will remember that last year, some of our staff took part in Movember, a charitable activity organised by the Movember Foundation. The idea is to grow a fabulous mustache throughout November to raise money to help stop men dying young from prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide. This year, even more of our staff have agreed to take part. This is more than 30% year-on-year growth, with further growth expected in November.
