The power of kindness should not be underestimated. A recent American research report said that rudeness was even more of a problem than sleep deprivation for health professionals when it came to factors influencing the quality of their patient care. If you want to find out more about this research, the study ‘Rudeness and Medical Team Performance’ was published in the
Pediatrics journal in January 2017. I think there is a lesson there for all workplaces, not just the medical profession.
