A lack of rainfall in the Highland Lakes watershed has contributed to below-average elevations on lakes Buchanan and Travis. With those lower lake levels, six public boat ramps already are unusable because they do not go deep enough into the water to allow boaters to safely launch. On Lake Buchanan, the Cedar Point Recreation Area boat ramp is unusable. On Lake Travis, LCRA’s Gloster Bend, the Narrows and Camp Creek recreation areas’ ramps and the Cypress Creek and Arkansas Bend ramps (operated by Travis County) are unusable. We update this information on our website as lake conditions change. With LCRA’s iPhone app, you also can get current Colorado River and Highland Lakes info on boat ramps, park facilities and real-time lake levels.
