PRECONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES BEGIN ON FERGUSON REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Scheduled construction activities
LCRA’s Ferguson Replacement Project contractor, Fluor Corporation, is scheduled to have survey crews performing work at the plant site and along Ferguson Road beginning the week of Dec. 5. The survey work is expected to last up to two weeks. Additionally, Fluor is planning to have an aerial survey conducted midweek, depending on weather conditions. The biplane to be used for the survey will make about four passes over the plant site at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 feet. The aerial portion of the survey should only take about 20 minutes.

Fluor plans to begin installing erosion controls and fencing in January. Shortly after the fencing is in place, the contractor plans to set its guard house at the construction entrance and begin ground preparation.

Vendor forum update
LCRA and Fluor are tentatively planning a vendor forum for March in the Marble Falls area to provide subcontractors and companies with an opportunity to meet Fluor representatives and obtain information on the types of services that Fluor will be seeking locally.

Fluor also plans to host an employment fair shortly after the vendor forum. The employment fair will give individuals with particular job skills an opportunity to talk with Fluor representatives and find out how to apply for jobs.

Open house plans
LCRA, with Fluor’s participation, plans to conduct two open houses in March for the public to learn more about the project and how Fluor will conduct its work to minimize impacts to the community. The open houses are tentatively scheduled for Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay.
