The time has come for a little summer splurge, so we’re going over our usual budget, but hey, it’s for Champagne! In North America, Champagne has become the wine of celebration, and as wonderful as it is to pop a bottle in honour of (insert occasion here), we like Champagne far too much to wait. This weekend we’ll be pouring Nicolas Feuillatte Réserve Exclusive Brut because we love it. Although no celebration is needed, saving $5 is pretty good so maybe there is a reason to celebrate!

Terroir / Region: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier make up the traditional blend of Champagne. Pinot Noir adds body and elegance, Chardonnay brings fresh acidity and structure, and Pinot Meunier brings richness and fruit. Over time, Champagne growers have learned the best places to plant each variety, unlocking the terroir of each valley and hillside of the region.
Producer: The Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne house was founded by Nicolas Feuillatte, but after he met Henri Macquart, it expanded into one of the most important co-ops in Champagne. It became a place where growers could meet and make wine together, and now more than 4500 growers bring their grapes to craft a wine encapsulating the flavours of the entire Champagne region.
