1. Call for COOPower Young Journalists | |

British Council is excited to introduce an opportunity to join a ‘Young Journalists’ team in Cyprus as part of the COOPower project.
Are you passionate about social change and interested in capturing the stories of people who work in innovative projects that have a social impact? If so, and you have a background in journalism, social media or communications, apply to join a team of young journalists in Cyprus.

2. Register for Cambridge International Assessment Education examination October/November 2020 session | |

The registration period for the Cambridge International Assessment Education for the October/November 2020 examination session, for the first-time entries and transfer entries from May/June 2020, is now open until 2 August 2020.
Please note that you need to register successfully before Sunday 2 August otherwise, you will need to pay late entry fees. Unfortunately late fees will be charged automatically, therefore we will not be able to change or waive them.
Select the option 'Cambridge International Assessment Education' from the 'Online Registration and Application Forms' menu.

With many school buildings closed, remote learning could mean website, app, text, phone, radio or TV broadcast. How are teachers responding to this challenge in different contexts? This was a panel event, with speakers from around the world, followed by questions from the audience.

Remote learning has meant teachers everywhere have had to rapidly adapt their way of working. Formal exams for 2020 have been cancelled in many countries, replaced with teacher assessments or predicted grades.
How can teachers know what learning has been achieved, whether pupils are retaining knowledge and skills, and whether they will be able to apply it later?

 'The challenges of remote learning
and teacher resilience'
Teachers are experiencing some of the most dramatic change in their careers and are under pressure to find new ways to support and reach their students. 70 per cent of school children are not attending school in buildings due to closures and rapid moves to remote learning.
What is the impact of this change on teacher resilience and wellbeing?
How are teachers and schools responding in different contexts?
This was a panel event, with speakers from around the world, followed by questions from the audience.

The PSGN Online Support for Schools (OSS) platform provides regular and ongoing support through access to training and resources that can be accessed remotely from the safety of your home at a time that best suits you. There are resources that can be used in online lessons along with discussion
forums to connect you with teachers across the globe. You can also connect with teachers through our monthly webinar series and learn how to successfully deliver lessons online.

CABLE CLUB is a series of artist films from the British Council Collection posted online ready for audiences to enjoy around the world.
You can now watch short films in the British Council Collection by the contemporary artist and author Samson Kambalu – Cathedral, Superfly, I Take My Place in History and I Take The Stairs to 1952 – on the British Council Visual Arts website for 2 weeks, until 4 August 2020.

 Supporting prospective UK students
Who doesn’t know the UK universities education fair in Nicosia?
Since 1987 the British Council in Cyprus has been running the annual UK education fair bringing together UK Educational Institutions and Cypriot students planning to study in the UK. Within these 35 years, we brought to Cyprus a total of 2,427 UK Education exhibitors, having at least 45 UK universities at each fair and had a total of 182,628 visitors.
