As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions at info@asccc.org. Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday! Respectfully, Julie Bruno ![]() 2017 Fall Plenary Session It was a pleasure spending time with our colleagues at our Fall Plenary Session discussing and debating the pressing issues of the term. We are grateful to all who presented at the event and for those in attendance. The resolutions adopted at Session may be found on our website as well as all materials for the presentations held during the event. ASCCC Foundation Our Academic Senate Foundation is still collecting funds to assist the colleges that were devastated by the northern California fires: Napa Valley, Mendocino, and Santa Rosa. All donations are greatly appreciated. Please continue to support our colleagues and students by donating before December 31. Click here to donate. FLOW The FLOW report is now available for review on the Doing What Matters website. The report is the product of the Chancellor’s Office in response to the Governor's request for a 115th fully online California community college. The Chancellor's Office identified “adults with some college and no certification” and “working adults with vocation needs” as the population to benefit from the FLOW options. The report contains the following four options: Option #1 FLOW unit with statewide mission within an existing campus The fourth option was presented to the FLOW workgroup at their final meeting on November 22. The report has been submitted to the Governor. Comments on the final report may be sent to Governor Brown through the Governor’s website at https://govapps.gov.ca.gov/gov39mail/. AB 705 The Chancellor’s Office has formed a workgroup to provide guidance on implementing AB 705. The guidance developed by the workgroup will be sent to the California Community College Curriculum Committee for review and recommendation to the Chancellor’s Office. The Chancellor’s Office expects full implementation of AB 705 by fall 2019. More information may be found in the ASCCC and Chancellor’s Office joint memo and timeline distributed on December 6. Guided Pathways The ASCCC Guided Pathways Task Force will be holding regional meetings and webinars in spring to support local academic senates and faculty as they continue to investigate and implement the principles of a guided pathways framework. Appointing a Guided Pathways liaison will ensure that your local senate remains in direct contact and communication with the ASCCC and will facilitate the sharing of information as the guided pathways effort moves forward. More information on the Guided Pathways liaison and all ASCCC liaison positions may be found on the Liaison webpage. Executive Committee Meeting and Strategic Planning The ASCCC will hold its next Executive Committee meeting on January 11-13, 2018 at the Mission Inn in Riverside. During the meeting, the Executive Committee will begin work on the next iteration of the ASCCC Strategic Plan. This meeting will lay the foundation for the 2018-2021 Strategic Plan to be presented for adoption at the Spring 2018 Plenary session. All are welcome to attend this and any of our Executive Committee meetings. ![]() Upcoming ASCCC Events
