I immediately called and talked with Amy, her calm and reassuring tone helped me feel like it might actually be alright. Now at 29 weeks, we’ve attended a new parents breakfast and met a handful of parents just like us. Amy came to our home and brought a beautiful basket full of gifts for our baby girl, along with resources for my husband and I. Medical Experts in Kansas City
The Down Syndrome Clinic at Children’s Mercy offers specialized services to children with Down syndrome and their families. As the only certified pediatric Down syndrome program in the region, the multidisciplinary team has been serving families since 1989.
A visit typically lasts for 4 hours and several specialists will visit with you, assess your baby and answer any questions you have. Appointments are

Benefits of Early Intervention
Children with Down syndrome typically experience delays in certain areas of development, so early intervention is highly recommended. It can begin any time after birth, but the sooner early intervention services start, the better.

Learn More at the National Down Syndrome Congress Convention
Each year, thousands of people from across the globe attend the NDSC Annual Convention. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the latest information about best practices for supporting people with Down syndrome from world-renowned experts.
The convention is virtual this year from June 21-26. Registration is $99 and you will have access to the recordings for 90 days after the event.
