From all of us at Forensic Foundations

Well, here we are almost at the end of 2018 - it has been a fantastic year for Forensic Foundations on so many fronts, and we hope that it has been a successful year for you too.

Highlights have included receiving our ISO17043 accreditation, launching the new website and welcoming two additional members to the team – Ben Davey who we have introduced previously and just this month – Maritta Parsell, but more of that later. But by far, the brightest highlight has been the assistance we have been able to give to so many of you in one way or another.

2019 is shaping up to be an even better year, with a number of new programs to roll out. One major addition to our suite of programs is the 'Advanced Court Skills' workshop (see below for more details), another interesting development is the number of niche Proficiency Test programs which we are currently developing.

At this time of year there are many End of Year / Christmas activities taking place. For most of us it is a time to relax and unwind, but for others this time of the year can be very difficult. And for others, who are working over this period - it can be a very busy and stressful time.  So can we encourage you to enjoy this time but also to look out for one another.

We look forward to working with you all in 2019.

ISO 17043 accreditation

For those of you who missed the big announcment foreshadowed in the last newsletter, this was it.

On 8th November we recieved formal notification that we had obtained our ISO17043 accreditation by NATA. This was a huge milestone in our journey, and has allowed us to expand our proficiency testing program internationally.

In addition to the more 'routine' forensic disciplines we are developing tests for some of less well serviced fields. If you have a particular test requirement, please get in touch and we can discuss how we can help.

Details of our exisiting program can be found here and click on the Proficiency Test tab.

Wecome Maritta Parsell

Somewhere hidden under the cap and coat is Mrs Maritta Parsell. Maritta has joined Forensic Foundations as Quality and Compliance Manager. Many of you will know Maritta as a result of her previous employment at NATA, where she had worked since 1998. From 2001 - 2011, Maritta was the Manager of the Forensic Science

program. When she retired last month, Maritta held the position of Senior Client Co-ordinator.

Maritta's wealth of experience has already impacted on a number of Forensic Foundations' programs - for the better!!!
